They compare MUSIC with a RVNN and a CVNN for DoA estimation. In their results MUSIC seems to outperform CVNN and CVNN outperforms RVNN. They present an interesting concept of training the network to both train it to steer a peak and a null at a target's position. The paper also contains some valuable references.
